Short description

The course has the following contents:

• Key concepts in the areas of business processes and workflow
• Different perspectives of business processes
• Modeling of business processes
• How to choose a modeling methodology (technology / language) that is suitable for a particular project
• Business Process Support (BPS) system
• Workflow-based BPS vs. Case Management / Adaptive Case Management (CM / ACM) system
• Executable business process models and tools
• Traditional vs. Agile business process development

Aim

After the course the student should be able to:

• Explain and apply the terminology, principles and theories in the areas of business processes and case management and Business Process Support system
• Choose a method for modeling of business processes that are suitable for a given business process and set general requirements for the computer-based system designed to support this process
• Build an executable model of a business process that can be used to set detailed requirements for a computer-based system to support this process
