BPCM - Business Process and Case Management

60 hp computer and systems sciences (or equivalent)
Short description
The course has the following contents:
- Key concepts in the areas of business processes and workflow
- Different perspectives of business processes
- Modeling of business processes
- How to choose a modeling methodology (technology / language) that is suitable for a particular project
- Business Process Support (BPS) system
- Workflow-based BPS vs. Case Management / Adaptive Case Management (CM / ACM) system
- Executable business process models and tools
- Traditional vs. Agile business process development
Aim
After the course the student should be able to:
- Explain and apply the terminology, principles and theories in the areas of business processes and case management and Business Process Support system
- Choose a method for modeling of business processes that are suitable for a given business process and set general requirements for the computer-based system designed to support this process
- Build an executable model of a business process that can be used to set detailed requirements for a computer-based system to support this process
