The Global IT Management course aim is emphasis on information and communications technologies (ICT) support in globalization and companies that operates in a global business environment. After the course the student will be able to: * Explain the assessment process of the political, economic, legal and technological environment in which a global company will operate. * Explain the cultural context of global management, global alliances and strategy implementation and global organization structure and control systems. * Analyze the IT organization, IT architecture and IT strategy implemented in a global company. * Analyze the role and responsibilities of a Chief Information Officer in a global company and the barriers he is facing in managing global IT resources. * Explain how to manage global systems and why companies are outsourcing and offshoring IS/IT. |
The trend towards globalization has determined the multinational enterprises to increase their attention on the role of information technologies in support of their global operations. In this perspective the course is addressing the important issues and challenges in managing IT resources in multinational enterprises. After the course the student will be able to: * Explain the assessment process of the political, economic, legal and technological environment in which a multinational enterprise will operate * Explain the cultural context of global management, global alliances and strategy implementation and global organization structure and control systems * Analyze the IT organization, IT architecture and IT strategy implemented in a multinational enterprise * Analyze the strategies used for the development of a global information system in a multinational enterprise and perform a SWOT analysis of this global information system * Explain how to manage global systems and challenges in IT sourcing |

Aim
