After completing the course, students should be able to understand:

• The relationship between organizational strategy and its impact on the choice of priorities and the monitoring of IT projects
• How an IT strategy is created from a business strategy
• Known analytical methods used as tools designed for the creation of strategies
• Categorizing IT projects and their characteristics
• Differences from a project management perspective on various IT projects
• Success factors for the most common types of iT projects
• Understand why it is important and difficult to select the right projects in an organization
• Various methods to select and rank project in a portfolio.
