= INT2 - Design for Collaborative Computing = == Requirements == 90 hp Computer and Systems Sciences with at least: * 7,5 hp human-computer interaction == Aim == After having attended the course participants should be able to: * Identify and tackle design challenges in the development of technologies for computer-based collaboration * Reflect and discuss technological and social issues in the use of groupware * Evaluate collaborative technology taking into consideration how it fits individual, social and technical aspects of the user situation * Apply and reflect on concepts for analyzing social interaction in computer-mediated-activities * Apply and reflect on key-design concepts for the development of groupware applications * Synthesize recent research in the field of CSCW and Social computing and its related technologies * Value and judge evaluation techniques for assessing groupware applications == Syllabus == The course covers the following topics: * Collaboration technology features and categories * Psychology of teams, social communities functioning * Ethnography in System Design * Awareness * Coordination mechanisms * Place and Space issues * Social navigation of information space * Privacy * Folksonomies * Evaluation of collaborative technologies Examples of collaborative technologies we treat in this course are: wikis, webblogs, computer games, collaborative editing and collaborative filtering.
