#acl kia:read, write, delete, revert, admin All:read = IOT - HMI för en uppkopplad värld = == Aim == The Internet of Things (IoT) is a vision of interconnected everyday objects and self-configuring wireless networks of sensors. Beyond the practical benefits of tagging and tracking things for logistic purposes, this also enables combinations of products and services that result in hybrid mash-up things that offer capabilities that are not possible to produce other ways. As this vision moves towards mass-marketization and all sorts of networked objects enter the Web, it will become increasingly important that end-users recognize that the value is not necessarily in the connectivity of any particular device, but in the whole network as such. Units in an IoT are connecting to one-another in various ad-hoc networks, or to the Internet, using very little bandwidth. Jointly, these ad-hoc connected devices create opportunities for novel functionality in novel, dynamically configured, mobile settings of many networked units. These units potentially produce large streams of data through sensing various aspects of the environment, user movements, bodily data or interactions with other people, that can be capitalized to create novel services – using crowd-sourcing, recommender systems, social navigation techniques, to name a few examples. The course aims to provide an overview of recent developments concerning Internet of Things, primarily from a Human-Computer Interaction perspective, and teach students how to design and develop applications for it. The course will be a five week course running at full speed. It will consist of ~20 lecture hours, ~30 hours of individual studies, and 120 hours of project work. The course work is divided into two blocks one theoretical/lecture block and a group assignment/project work block. The first block will last two weeks and includes 10 lectures and study time to prepare for the written exam, which takes places by the end of the second week. After that the project block starts and runs for three weeks until the end of the course. The group assignments will be presented in a seminar for the whole class towards the end of the fifth week of the course. <> ---- CategoryCategory
