= SECGOV - Security and Privacy in e-Government: IT, Laws and Ethics = == Level == Advanced level - Second cycle course == Required knowledge == In order to take this course the student must have a bachelor degree of 180 hp or similar knowledge. For bachelor students applies at least 7,5 credits in information security. == Short description == The course describes how theories of systems and social technical systems can be used for analysing IT security issues and risks in public sector. Moreover, the course discusses ethics and international laws related to privacy issues for the public sector. == Aim == After the course the student should be able to: * Understand the security requirements in complex systems and e-services * Be aware of security threats and attacks * Understand and manage security risks * Have knowledge of the legislation in security * Evaluate and select controls to provide assurance of complex systems and e-services * Establish and/or improve the security of systems and e-services == Syllabus == The course includes the following areas: * Basic security principles of e-governance * Security of IT systems and e-services * Security threats and attacks * Methods and controls to prevent, detect and mitigate security issues * Risk Management * Incident Management * Legal requirements for security and privacy regarding information governance in complex systems and e-services == Outline == The course is given as a distance course.
